Hi,
With the last version of LW (2020_1) I cannot be able to play or edit m2v (16:9 or 4:3 Pal 25 MPEG 720*576) files just imported in the project. I cannot play them even in the miniature of the import page.
The files already imported in the project work fine.
I can impot mp4 files with no problem.
With the previous version of LW all works fine.
Someone can help me?

O.S. Windows 10 64bit
Thank you in advance
Andrea

Hello,

I would consider M2V to be a legacy format, maybe support has been dropped, but I don't know. I don't have any sample to test with.

Please rename the extension to .MPG and see if it works.

Maybe I can find a fix with hands on the media.

Would you mind sharing a sample on a file sharing service of your choice, e.g. wetransfer.com/ ?

Could you disable the need to grant access via login, please? I don't like that.

Thank you.

After seeing this, I think that's a bug of 2020.1

If you don't wish converting, I found that remuxing m2v to mp4 with FFmpeg works. This has the benefits that it preserves the original video stream without re-encoding and is lightning fast.

Alternatively, if you run OSX or Windows, you can install V14.5 side by side with 2020.1, import the media with V14.5 and edit with 2020.1. I know that sound s weird, but it appears to work.

If you need a batch file to remux all your videos in one run with ffmpeg, which will take very little time, let me know.
