I have succeeded in importing audio in the past but not now.

The audio track is listed in the project "local files." I punch it and it imports and is labeled imported. But when I click on the file I don't get a clip I can work with. It just imports it over and over.

The first time a blank clip entitled No Source comes up. The buttons are all disabled so it isn't of much use.

It's an mp4 I had converted to mp3.

The question is now, what false setup or unsuitable software did you use to create an MP3 file which isn't compliant with the Lightworks decoders?

Yes, that appears to be the problem. Windows Media Player has no difficulty with these files, but I guess that doesn't matter.

Indeed, Windows media Player isn't a reference, because it uses decoders different from Lightworks, as far as I know.

However your problem should be easily fixable, just by converting again with suitable software and settings.

Could you post Mediainfo reports of the original MP4 and the converted MP3? Here you'll find instructions how to create and post Mediainfo reports on Windows: www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=6&id=217816&Itemid=81#217824

I figured it out. It had nothing to do with the encoding. The trouble was I was importing the file in the Edit window. It works after a fashion, but one is unable to actually use the resulting clip. One must return to the Log window to do this.
