Dear All,

When I started using lightworks some two years ago, I ran into a small issue with my audio and film running out of sync.

I was and still do, use this platform to edit film that is recorded on my phone.

At the time I was kindly advised that the version of lightworks I was using was a little sensitive and was pointed in the direction of eyeframe converter and following the conversation from c.30fps to 23.976 all syncing issues disappeared.

Until yesterday and again today.

With there being nothing different to my editing process, I noticed on two occasions, when playing the edit back just prior to render that again, the audio was slightly out with the film and on both occasions this was rectified by simply closing down the program and re opening it again.

Its a minor thing, but I wonder what could be causing it?

I'm using version 14.5.0.0 with windows 10

As always, thanks in advance

Steve

I also use this "solution".

When the audio is not immediately audible after starting playback, I restart Lightworks.

Thank you for your reply. How long have you been experiencing this may I ask?

Hi Steve,

One known cause of sync issues, fixable by restarting, is returning from sleep/hibernation mode with Lightworks running. This kind of sync issue appears as delayed reaction of audio playback in preview on toggle start/stop.

Not long ago, a member of the forum suggested implementing a 'reset-button' to circumvent restarting.

I'm not sure.
I use Lightworks since 2012.
I can not remember that it did not happen with a version.

Regarding the traffic on the forum, the number of known issues causing sync problems has decreased significantly with V14.5. However, it seems as if some still exist.

Thank you for your help as always N.

Correct me if i'm wrong, although remediable through restart, this is a bit on issue that is still yet to be fixed?

Yes, I think it is.

The experienced users might got used it and, restarting Lightworks is lightning fast compared with others but, I can imagine that users who try the software for the first time and find themselves in a struggle with sync issues without any obvious reason, might abandon the software without visiting the forum first.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Knowing that's all it takes to resolve the issue isn't a major problem for me. However, a friend of mine is interested in learning to use and editing platform and I'm happy to show her the merits of lightworks for the obvious reasons. However, explaining that you might need to 'turn it on and off again" occasionally isn't what I'd call a unique selling point that will attract new customers.

They are working on rectifying this presumably?

And while I'm at it and on a different topic, any news on 1080 rendering being offered as standard would you know?

Thanks again

Steve

Beside of the official release notes, I have no information about the plans , but most likely they are working on it. However, it could be not that easy to fix.

I think, 1080 export will remain a feature of the Pro version.
