I'm a total novice when it comes to this stuff, so I apologize if the story is not complete. I look forward to the help, and thank you to all that reply! Thank you

Welcome to the forum.

Does this happen with all your clips or just one clip?

Hello,

Could you post your computer details and a Mediainfo report of a typical video file you use, please?

Here you'll find instructions on how to create and post Mediainfo reports:

You don't need to apologize. Thanks for the information.

Mediainfo of the video file doesn't show anything obvious which would explain a crash on your system, but I've heard that some people have trouble editing files from a Playstation. It's from a Playstation, isn't it?

Would you mind sharing this, or a similar clip which causes crashes when dragging into the timeline? You can attach MP4s up to 20 MB in total directly with your response. Beyond 20 MB, you could use a file sharing service, e.g. wetransfer.com/ .

It was recorded with a Sony digital camera. I ended up deleting the project and starting over since I hadn't edited anything. It's working fine now, but I'm just hoping it doesn't happen again. Has anybody had any adverse effects from importing audio files from Audacity? I imported them into a different project, but I'm wondering if that would have had any affect.

We haven't found out what it was, so nobody can say if it will happen again - Come back if it does.

Just in case that you should encounter performance problems when editing your material on your machine. Here you'll find a description of the internal proxy workflow which can help in such cases:

Speaking only for my person: I have no problems with files created with Audacity used in Lightworks, but Audacity, like any other DAW, provides a lot tools and settings to damage sound and destroy sync.
