What am I supposed to do?
I download the "stable" version and I get "Internal Error A001"
I download the beta, I get a download error
"Error opening file for writing
Users\Public\Documents\Lightworks\GlobalSign.cer"
I've tried turning off my anti-malware/virus software for the install
I have a full legal copy of windows (no vm)
What can I do here?

When searching the net, one can find that it has been introduced with 'Windows 10 build 16232' and it blocks access to folders, and not only installation folders, for applications that are not recognized as Windows Certified Applications. This function is pretty much useless, because multiple methods are know to bypass Controlled Folder Access which can be used by malware.

Lightworks isn't malware.

To allow installation and for proper operations afterwards, try this procedure with Win10:

1. Select "Start>>Settings>>Update & Security>>Windows Security>>Virus & threat protection"
2. Under "Virus & threat protection settings", select "Manage settings".
3. Under "Controlled folder access", select Manage "Controlled folder access".
4. Switch the "Controlled folder access" setting to "Off".
