Hi Lightworks,

Seen the update on the new Beta

Just wondering, because there was a lovely list and unfortunately I can't tell if that detailed what I'm asking in more a technical fashion:

Will the new version allow us to create (and compress) videos in aspect ratios other than 16:9? for example 1:1, 9:16 (for phone screens upright) and other social media friendly ways to make and edit content. The option to compress too, so we don't lose video quality having them compress when we post?

At present I have created videos to the desired ratio in LWKS by cropping, but then after creation; editing in another app so the ratio fits-to-screen, other than being letterboxed in a 16:9 format.

This feature would be helpful as I am a Windows user.

Welcome to the forum.

This feature sounds like one being flagged up for the next major version of Lightworks (previously called V15).

Adding support for device arrival (phones, camera cards etc)
Adding support for OFX plugins
Adding support for custom output formats
Adding support for more social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc
Adding support for audio FX plugins

I think Editshare picked up a feature request that I posted some time ago and decided to make it thanks to the big support from many other users, I don;t think the upcoming stable release, which is due sometime soon, will have it, since the beta doesn;t seem to include this functionality at least yet (maybe I haven't found it) But what comes next after this upcoming release should have many exciting things. Including the custom output formats etc.
Kind regards,
Danas
