currently effects use the project format setting for playback, even if proxies with much smaller dimensions are used. If effects could use the proxy dimensions, this could significantly reduce the GPU load (partly also the V-RAM load).

Since there may be multiple proxy dimensions in a project, and probably no dynamic texture dimensions are possible in the effects pipeline, would it make sense to use the proxy format currently set in the project settings? Or is something more flexible planned for LW15?

I think a straight forward approach could be adding 480p/360p to output formats, or, maybe better, a selection to display half or quarter resolution (some draft mode), like others do.
