This is really useful on portable machines like the new MacBook Pro, and it also works with DaVinci Resolve for the final online if you're into that workflow.

Lightworks only supports an interface that has both inputs and outputs.

Unfortunately, that's correct which is why this is in the feature request section.

If Avid, FCPX, and Resolve can output 10 bit on output only devices, and Lightworks can output on I/O devices, I haven't read a reason why this shouldn't be a feature.

Yes, now that BMD have introduced a cheap 4K mini monitor, I think it should be a LW feature. In fact, I went over to Resolve several years ago just so I could prove a 10bit SDI display using the original HD mini-monitor. I've since upgraded to a 12G SDI 4K Pro Decklink which I'm pleased to confirm is fully supported by Lightworks so it remains my preferred Editor.

BTW, Lightworks AFF Exports (from small HD proxies) sent over to DaVinci Resolve always Conform perfectly back to my original 4K log files for a Grade, Finish and Deliver.

Hi

I wish for this as well. I bought the 4K mini monitor card for future purpose (haven't got an extra monitor yet..). But if it's not going to work for a long time, maybe it could be clarified in the specifications tab what cards is working and not.

To date, they've needed to be I/O cards as opposed to Output cards ie: "Decklink" series from BMD as well as others for Aja, etc

What makes me wonder is that when using the output feature only why do I need the Input feature as well. Sounds obsolete and expensive.
It's better to travel well than to arrive...

Legacy thinking I guess. Since file based acquisition, digitising from tape is largely a thing of the past and now performed by specialised production facilities. I think if Lightworks were to port to the newer and more affordable Output only cards, then it could only assist with the Editor's wider acceptance.
