I don't want to interrupt the export and start experimenting if I can't do anything to improve matters, if I might as well just leave it running. However, I was wondering whether using another technique to display the videos, like a multicam bin, is likely to work better - or just work at all! (And/or would it help if I edited all the videos to be the same resolution and bit rate before starting? They came in from a dozen different people, so there's quite a variety of resolutions, from 640x480 to 1920x1080, and at least four different bit rates)

Thanks]]>

The final scene has a picture in the middle and will have all the cast speaking in turn. What I would like to do is to have the cast member speak and then the video to freeze frame whilst the next person speaks (they're all sending in separate videos). I know how to position the videos on the screen and they each have their own audio tracks (the final words are spoken in unison and this was the way I thought I could get everyone saying the same thing at the same time). How do I freeze the frame without the audio carrying over into the next persons audio?
Apologies if the answer is obvious, or if there's a tutorial already!]]>

Switching between viewing multiple tracks and one track - and back again ? - by: pwms https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=7&id=229001&Itemid=81#229001 https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=7&id=229001&Itemid=81#229001
I have 9 video clips of individual musicians playing the same piece which I have placed on 9 separate tracks and manually sync'd them.

I can use the 2D DVE effect to resize an position each track video on a 3 x 3 grid so I can see them all.

What I want to do is at a set time zoom in on one video for several seconds and them back to seeing all the videos. Then later zoom in on another and again and again.

I am stuck with how I can do this, can anyone help ?

Many thanks

Dissolve between 2 clips - by: doggability https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=7&id=228911&Itemid=81#228911 https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=7&id=228911&Itemid=81#228911
Trying to do this I get the "There is insufficient incoming media to add a transition here". I understand that it is because there is no overlap in the clips. The user shouldn't have to do this manually. How I think it should work:

- have 2 clips in sequence, one immediately following the other
- put red vertical line at junction of the two
- click Effects button
- select Mix > Dissolve
- set a t1 for dissolve start time in clip 1, t2 for dissolve end time in clip 2
- click Apply effect

This video suggests editing the clips before you put them in the sequence

Absurd

Even when I drag the 2nd clip over a little on top of the 1st clip, I still get the "insufficent" error.

What is the easiest way to do this?]]>

I have an old video that has a lot of interference on it from non synced analogue video head noise.

Looking for a method to reduce it such as switching based upon luminance as it is generally of higher luminance than the content.

Had thought of using two copies of the same video. The primary being used for luminance detection and the second being a frame or so delayed to be used as the insert in the primary video detected regions - much like a frame store and hoping the previous frame is relatively clean in the keyed area.

Is this possible to do and if so how, which effect etc?

I have had a go at lumakey to see if the basic key will work and it does detect the noise as being of greater luminance for a big portion of it. I suppose what I envisage is something like chromakey (but using luminance) to another moving image! Still of a poor frame attached.

Have used a few edit methods over the years - as far back as cut and splice on quadraplex tape machines but I am realy impressed so far with Lightworks!]]>
