  1. Go to directory ~/Lightworks
  2. Open file error.log there
  3. Search for the audio outputs until you find something like
  4. create a file GlobalSettings.txt in that directory. Put into this file: Where 21 is what you found out from error log, might be different on your system.
  5. restart LWKS. Check for audio output, and check connectivity using qjackctl or catia

Note that even though PulseAudio is the default nowadays on most Linux systems, it has some possible disadvantages. Jack guarantees a system-wide constant latency, Pulse does not. Pulse furthermore may do resampling based on very poor algorithms. This can be configured, but the defaults are heartbreakingly bad.

kxStudio Linux uses Jack by default and connects Pulse and ALSA via bridges to it.

One great advantage of using Jack is that you can plug the output of LWKS into the input of tools such as the Carla plugin host. Thus you can use audio analyzers, e.g. for checking Leq(m) loudness as required for Cinema productions.

Edit: there is also this:

... which, as the name suggests, will make LWKS use Jack also for audio input.]]>

I'm not very technical, but I'm trying to use Lightworks for Youtube videos.

I can manage to get the video imported, but then once it is in the editing screen, the video freezes but the audio works. Then the video goes black and the audio sticks,

I am on Windows 10, and that is about all I know about the OS, - apologies!

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated,

Can I roll back to 14.5 after installing 14.6 beta? - by: mattpdx1 https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=21&id=210823&Itemid=81#210823 https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=21&id=210823&Itemid=81#210823
I upgraded because I was interested in the enhancements but didn't realize there was an inherent risk to my existing work. I DID backup the LW projects folder first, as recommended on this site.

Can I get instructions on how to revert to 14.5 (free) stable release? And what should I do about ensuring my projects will not be affected by any uninstalls? Thanks!

EDIT: OS is Win7x64]]>

planning a 4k workstation - by: itsuph https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=21&id=210696&Itemid=81#210696 https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=21&id=210696&Itemid=81#210696
I has to plan a 4K workstation to be used with Lighworks.

My configuration is so far:

CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX, 32x 3.00GHz
Board: MSI X399 SLI Plus
Graphic: 2x PNY Quadro RTX 4000, 8GB
HDD: 3x Samsung 970 Pro m2(1x system, 1x source, 1x rendered material)
RAM: 4x 16GB

Would that configuration be sufficient enough? One of the use-cases is to combine 4 video-stream into one video (4in1 picture).

Thanks in advice,
Chris]]>
