My trouble is that some video (by that I mean video, audio, VFX's, etc) in the sequence of a project has disappeared out of nowhere. This has happened in two different projects to make things worse, so I don't think I have mistakenly deleted them.

HELP!!! Those were like 6 hours of work completely gone ]]>

Can't export - Format unsupported - Linux free version - by: tandjwhite
When I try to export my project, I get the error: Format Unsupported.

Looking around on these forums, I think I am trying to export the wrong format, but I can't seem to change it.

When I choose to export, the only valid option is: H.264/MP4 (Free).
However, I notice that the framerate is blank. Somewhere I saw that this is could be the problem.

I am using imported clips that are 1080p, H.264 as per the following screenshot.

How can I successfully export my video?]]>

Random audio distortion on export ? - by: hugly
In my understanding the internal audio encoders and decoders are software based and don't use interrupt driven and thus timing critical access to audio hardware. Consequently timing issues causing distortion shouldn't occur on export, it's reading a stream, decoding it, encoding and writing it, basically. No matter how fast or slow the process is, it creates the same binary result, reproducibly.

Recently reports started about random audio distortion on heavy system load in preview which carries over into exported files, even one with no distortion in preview, but in the exported file. I have no idea how something like this can this can happen, at least not if no audio hardware involved.

Can someone with experience in coding sound processing chains shade some light on what the affected machines are fighting with?]]>

Playback lagging - by: HBchic
I saw that one guy on here edits with the low res videos and then replaces them with high res which will not work for me at all. That would be very annoying.

With these lags, I may as well be editing blindfolded.

I use two cameras but I have converted both files in Handbrake so that the fps and all of that matches.]]>

Trying to emulate the text animations and features of another video - by: Newbport
I tried to attach the video to this post several times, I think the file size is too large or something.

Link to video →

I'll keep trying and will post a link here to the video I'm trying to emulate just in case it doesn't upload

I've found a lyric video that I would ultimately like to try and emulate but for now is beyond my skill level. I'm only interested in the text animations/variables used in the video.

The animator is able to manipulate single characters within each sentence, such as changing the font, size, color, and the intro and outro animations of the text.

I was wondering if there was anyway to do this using the free version of lightworks. Any input on the topic is greatly appreciated.

Thank you~]]>

Sony XAVC second audio track shifted [issue] - by: hugly #182830 quite a while ago (attached below) to check an issue related to timecode and detected coincidentally that it shows the second audio track significantly delayed. That might well be an issue caused by processing the clip with Sony Content Browser (as described in the other discussion), but Resolve imports it flawlessly and the stereo audio looks and sounds as expected. Not sure if that's mainstream, but perhaps worth a look, nevertheless?]]> Bugs Tue, 11 May 2021 13:27:06 +0000 format unsupported (export) - by: Lordadel

Can't Move Clips Around on the Timeline - by: RecoveringChristian
Can't imagine why this would be a problem. Literally moving clips around on the timeline, nothing more complicated than that, I literally just mean moving clips.

Please help.

Thank you,

2021.2 Issues with audio dropouts and 2D DVE positioning (from 2020.1.1 project) - by:
1. Audio dropouts noticed whilst playing project in EDIT and/or VST tab. I checked my PC's ASIO driver settings, they are set to maximum buffering, so project playback SHOULD function normally. Does 2021.2 use a separate ASIO driver set or does it use my PC's default ASIO? I also do audio mixing using Cubase (not simultaneously), so I'm VERY aware of ASIO settings and how they impact performance.

2. 2D DVE positioning not rendering correctly on main REVIEW screen for 'upper-right' corner. My 2020.1.1 project is a music video, utilising chromakey 'green screen' with separate 2D DVE controls for foreground and background. The background video clip (x = 0.932, y= 0.752) is incorrectly showing in the bottom left corner of my screen whilst the foreground (x= 0.905, y=0.796) is correctly showing in the upper right corner.

Routing diagram, shown below

This is how it SHOULD look (image from 2020.1.1 rendering, from last week)

I have more details if anyone is interested. This project functioned correctly ('as expected') in 2020.1.1 and can be viewed here at 0:46 in, cheers!

Let me know]]>

Corrupted frame order on Cineform export with AVC media [issue] - by: hugly
I just encountered it with self converted well tested 2160p h.264 (AVC) material, one of the files I use here as reference for encoder tests. Right after importing the clip, I exported it in Cineform.AVI from the context menu of the clip and got corrupted frame order in the exported file. The exported file is pretty large, not ideal for file transfer. I converted it to 1080p HEVC to be able to attach it (frame order and duration untouched). It shows the issue clearly enough. The corrupted section starts at frame 30 (counting from 1) and has a duration of 18 frames.

To me that looks like two different frame buffers not correctly initialized/flushed and then mixed, but I'm just a guessing dummy.]]>
