How do I do it? (did you get it?)

For example, when you go to youtube or vimeo the videos in thumbnails have a still image or a still frame. Some just have a random frame but others seem to have been intentionally chosen.]]>

Can't Make My Video Longer than 5 Minutes! - by: amart266 https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=6&id=196213&Itemid=81#196213 https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=6&id=196213&Itemid=81#196213 Editing Tue, 16 Apr 2019 12:26:21 +0000 Trying to get an image of text to gradually show in a video - by: NewEditor2019 https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=6&id=196163&Itemid=81#196163 https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=6&id=196163&Itemid=81#196163
I was wondering if you could help. I have a picture which is basically a wall of text. The audio in the video will be reading the text and I only really want a sentence at a time to show in the image.

So once the audio has read the first sentence then the second sentence appears then the next once the audio has caught up.

So far my very crude solution is to add the image say 50 images (if I had 50 sentences) with each image showing 1 more sentence and then I will try and align it all. Surely there is an easier way?

Can it be done using an image overlay? Where the overlay covers the text and then deletes after a certain amount of time and hence reveals the next sentence?

Thanks.]]>

I'm a really beginner for what concerns editing. I'm using Lightwork free version. I'm trying to edit a video I made with my Samsung s8. The video is at the highest resolution, 3840x2160, mp4, codec aac, h.264. The only thing I did was to add the whole video on Lightworks, then deactive its audio, and I've put an mp3 song as audio, then I exported it with fps 30, size 720. The quality of the audio is fine, but the video image became very bad, with visible pixels. Am I doing something wrong, or is it normal to get not such a good image because of the free version? Hope you can help me. Thanks!]]>

I am brand new to Lightworks and had been using it with success for a few hours when suddenly one of my clips started lagging in playback, sometimes pausing completely while audio (from a different source, not the video) continues playing. When I exported the video, there was no lagging, but I can't effectively edit while the lagging is happening. The application shows a spinning blue circle like it's busy/working. Please help!]]>

Audio / video sync - by: ianrosaaen https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=6&id=195949&limit=15&limitstart=15&Itemid=81#195949 https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=6&id=195949&limit=15&limitstart=15&Itemid=81#195949 The A7rii video is also 29.97.

I created a 30 fps project.

If I move either the audio or video tracks, they don't precisely align. Each track moves by not less than one frame at a time. The audio and video cues are separated by about 1/2 a frame.

As a previous Premier Pro user, I never had this issue. I'm hoping it's just user error.

Thank you.]]>

How do you use Milestones? - by: TheFluffyNeps https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=6&id=195878&Itemid=81#195878 https://www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=6&id=195878&Itemid=81#195878
I thought I copied my previous work so that I could work on the beginning of my video easier and my rationale was that I could simply just paste the 2nd half back once I was finished.

I was completely dead wrong because all that happened when I pressed paste was that Lightworks pasted the work I just did. Why!? That's not at all what I copied!

So now I'm here with a lot of my work completely gone.

I've tried restoring from backups (There is literally 1 and that's the post-2nd half gone version) and pretty much everything else under the blue moon on the forums.

So far the only thing that I'm not sure that works or not would be trying to use the Milestones I have to try and restore previous versions of my edits; only problem is I have no idea how to get it to work.

I close Lightworks, take a milestone and replace the current folder (so EXXPX7.4 > EXXPX7.ed5) but no matter what files I edit or change, the project never changes and after 3 hours of messing with the files the best I managed to do was just remove the entire timeline. I'm not even sure what file I deleted did that.

So yeah. I'm pretty much stuck right now. I have no idea how to use milestones to restore the previous version of my project and quite frankly, anything would be of help.]]>
