I had a nice long post typed out, but had to reboot...

NCH Debut seems to use h.264 and mp3 for the recordings, so if the frame size is in one of the standard sizes, then it should work fine in Lightworks (pending testing). [edit] found the options for different codecs, looks like everything I have installed on this computer is listed, some of these choices might even work

The bad side is that on my machine it will not shutdown the application down properly, this is where I got into trouble. It hung trying to shutdown something with the screen capture routines and I had to reboot to get back to a functional computer. I think this deserves a little more work to figure out exactly what happened. At $40 vs. $300 (Camtasia price) this would be a great alternative for most people.

NCH does what it can to market its products, it's best to be you sure unselect the (something like) 'install the NCH toolbar/console?' option when isnstalling their product. It will offer you other NCH software when it thinks you need it.

Virtualdub (free) has screen capturing with audio built into it. Best if used with a dual monitor setup.

khaver Thank you. I first heard that Virtualdub can do a screen capture. I tried and I succeeded. Only I can `t understand the options and understand how to configure the capture of the center of the screen? I have a seizure is in the upper left corner of the screen. How to move a field capture in the center?

When you're in the Virtualdub capture mode and have the device set to screen capture, first go to the menu Video/Set custom format. Here you set your output resolution and Data format. Then go to the menu Video/Source to set capture parameters. Finally, go to the menu Video/Compression and set which codec to capture to. If you're going to capture audio also, use the settings in the Audio menu.
