Does this also work for import conversions?

I'm setting up an XP machine right now to use for testing (if it is fast enough) so I'll give this a try.

Have you tried adding entries to the codec list or will it only work if you replace a codec link?

Yes it also works for transcoding on import. And it should work on effects rendering as well (haven't tried it yet). Edit: Yes, rendering effects works.

You can't add entries because the export codec list in Lightworks is hard coded.

I do have ffdshow 32 bit installed on my system but there does not appear to be an VIDC.FFDS entry in this part of the registry. See screen grabs (I could not fit the complete list on one page).

Shaun, did your ffdshow include the VFW codec? In your start menu for ffdshow is there a "VFW configuration" link?

Look in your Windows\system32 folder and look for ff_vfw.dll

Yes there is a vfw configuration link. See screen grab. When I click on the link the configuration dialogue open up OK. There is no ff_vfw.dll in the System32 folder.

Try to find the ff_vfw.dll file and use the path to it to replace the vidc.dvh1 key value.

Just did a search on my system for ff_vfw.dll and it is not found.

I tried replacing the DVC100 value with CFHD.dll and clicked on the screwdriver. The Matrox dialogue still comes up.

Do I need to reboot for the registry changes to take effect?
