TOPIC: convert avchd (.mts) files 'ImTOO Video Converter'

convert avchd (.mts) files 'ImTOO Video Converter' 3 years, 4 months ago #9606

Is it possible to convert a '.mts file (avchd)'into a workable file for lightworks with the software 'ImTOO Video Converter'?

thx, lisa

I see that this transcoder is commercial so unless someone on this forum has already purchased it, or is willing to purchase it, it will be difficult to determine if it can do what you ask.

See the Lightworks unofficial wiki for an alternative and free method of converting AVCHD mts files to mp4 which Lightworks can currently import.

thanks for the wiki link.

after converting to .mp4 i am not able to import the file. mp4 files don't appear in the file open dialog.

i installed lightworks public beta 10.0.4 and matrox vfw codec. for converting i used the mediacoder with preset (wiki).

can anyone help?

Do you have QuickTime Pro 7.6.6. or later installed? It is a requirement mentioned in the Lightworks Install Guide on the download page.

i bought and installed quick time pro 7.6.9.

now mp4 files are shown when opening the import dialog. but after choosing the file lightworks describes the file as content "unknown" and frame rate "unknown". importing isn't possible.

playing the encoded .mp4 file with vlc oder quicktime works fine. as described in the wiki i used medicoder 0.7.5.4799 32 bit (after uninstalling the newer version).

any other hints?

Sorry you are having problems.

Please use Mediainfo--see this thread--to analyse both the source footage and the re-wrapped/trancoded footage and post the results here. Then we can see what we are dealing with.

shaunthesheep, you saved my editing-afternoon - again I really begin to get used to lightworks but without this forum and your tutorials I would have got rid of it long time ago.
