TOPIC: [Solved] Flip video import: free lwks "unlicensed format"! Pro lwks supported?

[Solved] Flip video import: free lwks "unlicensed format"! Pro lwks supported? 1 year ago #24583

Dear forum members,

just a very simple question or request from a lwks rookie:
Can somebody import the attached file with a pro lwks version and tell me if it's working.
Within the free lwks it's not supported.

1000+1 thanks in advance.

Best, PP

Yes, your file is working in the Pro version.

Both picture and sound are working in the Pro version.

Just in case anyone is wondering, this is an MPEG-4 movie (720 x 1280, h.264).

You could also try the free GoPro Cineform Studio, convert the files to Cineform and try importing into Lightworks again. This would put the material into an intermediate codec making editing easier and might let you continue with the free version.

If the GoPro HD2 new firmware ever comes out, I have a feeling this will become the standard GoPro workflow since they will need to do color correction on the files before any other task, and this correction may require GoPro Cineform Studio (details are still slightly lacking on this firmware).

Dear all,

@SMPse & ScottHill:
Thank you very much for testing

@Forumadmin:
Thank you for the backgroundinformation. Nevertheless nobody asked for flip video cameras on the web. I know that has nothing especially to do with the codec. Anyway, now these"keywords" are set.

@Greg_E:
I think I'll try GP CS but nevertheless I'm also willing to pay for LWKs. Let's see. Maybe I trink one or two cocktails less, next weekend.

Keep you posted, but for now the topic is "solved".

Best, PP

Yeah, I think the Pro version is worth it too, but just wanted to mention one more possible way to get the work done.

Hey all!

I've tried the GP solution. Video import was ok. Audio was stretched.

I've bought the Pro-Version. And I'm very happy with that.
