OK, I will try to upload the exported AVI file, and the forward the link as requested. That way they can hear the audio! You can still see what it does to the video by viewing it on the YouTube link in my previous post. Its distorted for some reason, even though the audio was fixed to normal during YouTube's processing it.

Hi Ken2011,

Please can you tell me how you are checking the audio on the exported file? It seems strange that the audio would be incorrect on export but then correct after it is converted by a third party application. If the audio is incorrect on the exported file, then it would be exactly the same when it is converted, there is no way a conversion could correct the audio, so I would be interested to know with which applications you are checking the exported file.

AVI files do not contain the aspect ratio within the file, this may explain why your AVI to YouTube looks as though it is 4:3 when it should be 16:9. MOV files contain the aspect ratio which is why they are correct. I do not know enough about uploading files to YouTube, but if the AVI file is being converted during upload then the correct aspect ratio must be set (16:9)

Hello Cookiecutter

I can assure you that it is happening exactly that way, strange as it sounds. The file is being played using the standard Windows Movie Player. I also played it on the DivX player with the same results.

Uploading the AVI file to YouTube resulted in the audio being fixed, but the video was then messed up, width was smashed in some and then the top to bottom of the image was stretched. This was when I uploaded to YouTube that all that happened, as you can see in previous post with the links.

Don't understand how the audio can get fixed with upload to YouTube or Conversion, but it does....

Ken

OK, here is the file after using Microsoft Expressions Encoder to encode it to WMV format (I do this step any way just because it reduces the size of the file to a size I can upload to YouTube in a timely manner). As you can see, the encoding resulted in a file with one STEREO 2 Channel audio file, and the sound is perfect.

Oh, and the file is fixed with any conversion, not just when using Microsoft Expressions Encoder. It was fixed when I used Freemake Video Converter, and when I did the example of uploading an AVI straight out of LW up to YouTube, the audio was fixed there by their conversion as well.

Maybe this will help find an answer to the issue!
