i have now managed to import an mov successfully, after converting the clip from mpg (to mov) with winff. i shall do some more import experiments later, but at least this means i can start experimenting with the editing interface.

offering some sample clips would be an excellent idea - at least users can test their intall against something known to work.

If you (Editshare) need some clips to put out there that are royalty free, feel free to grab some of our stuff (NASA), put it in a "known to work codec" and re-purpose it. It's public domain.
