I have a new PC, new Windows 7. I downloaded and installed Quicktime 7. I downloaded and tried to install LW but it has stalled.

There is a message in the log window about haspdinst.exe... That's where it seems to have hung up.

This is going to be my main machine. I have loaded LW on several old machines without incident.

What happens if you extract haspdinst.exe from the installer and install it separately beforehand?

How do I do the extraction?

I'm guessing there is some kind of unzipping to do, but I am unclear.

Thanks.

Here is some more info about things I don't understand.

I am reading thru some other hasp related posts and I see mention of "Unibrain," which is a name I saw when I ran an install disc for a SIIG Firewire 800 card I installed on my computer. It seemed like some drivers didn't load. However, the 800 card does speak to Firewire devices.

This hasp application seems to cause lots of problems.

Download 7-Zip and open the installer with it. Extract the haspdinst.exe file from the $[42] folder to your desktop and then run it from the command line with "haspdinst.exe -I" (no quotes). If it installs, then try Lightworks and it should skip over HASP even though it appears in the list.

I am having the same problem. Did so much the other night I have gone back to a previous restore point.

I installed quicktime because it was mentioned here.
Got the same error yet again.

Just ran it from the command line but it will not install.

Win 7 - But it installed fine on my mums pc which is also Win 7

I want a chance to try this program and may well upgrade if only I could get it on my pc!
I am now considering buying one of the main video editors out of frustration.

I do hope you can help me before I do anything as rash as that.

I am getting: V2C Error HASP LM is not running Errorcode 37 04491 33
and then: Hasp installer failed - error code 65573
