Not sure how this could have gone this bad, but when I installed V11 Pro, I started having stability problems using my other NLE, EDIUS which up to this point was rock solid and never crashed. I started getting white screen lock-ups when using Edius after installing V11 Pro. I uninstalled Lightworks and the problems disappeared.

Should the Matrox codecs used in the Beta be removed since a new render engine was installed?

My computer no longer boots now to windows without shutting off and I'm currently re-installing Windows 7 due to corrupt files.

Anyone else having issues like this?

Thanks, Steven

I have the free version working fine with win7 Enterprise x64 with Media Composer 6 also installed, but it is a test computer and has basically nothing else installed.

I'm using Edius 6 in conjunction with Windows 7 and LW. I've used all three, LW beta, LW v11 Free and LW v11 Pro. I don't see any instability although I have several codec packs, converters, and muxers, as well as a web browser (Firefox) installed. I view my stuff in MediaPlayer and QuickTime. The only compatibility issue I encountered since January was for an editor/converter called Avidemux. Although it installed properly, it crashed reliably on opening. I concur with Greg_E though, in that a computer exclusively used for a single purpose is a lot more stable. I also found that in some instances the Microsoft Updates for Windows 7 cause problems.

There might be a compatibility issue with the version of QT installed. Thinking back, this all started about the same time as I installed the required QT 7.7 to use with Lightworks v11. My Edius 5.51 worked awesome with QT 7.55. When I get this mess put back together, I'm to upgrade to Edius 6 so I don't have this issue.

I guess the best deal on Edius 6 Upgrades for the US is at softharbor.com . Anyway I shopped carefully and that's where I got mine. Just figured you might want to know. J.

@SteveL: Just a note, QT 7.7 is not required but rather recommended by the installer. Putting back QT 7.55 may fix your problems for the time being. Also, the Matrox codecs can be uninstalled. Lightworks skips over them anyway, so ultimately they aren't needed.
