Hello,

After exporting the video in Lightworks with DVCPRO Compression and size of 1280z720. When I send it to Youtube, the resolution is changed to 960x720.
When I open it in Windows Media Player, the resolution is ok and when I see video properties, the video is recognized as 1280x720. In VLC Media Player, the visualization of the video is OK, with the correct proportions, but when in the Video Info window, it is recognized as 960z720.
What should I do to get the correct results?

I think it's probably an interlaced thing, YouTube doesn't want interlaced video.

I don't see anything wrong with that. We'll have to wait for someone more knowledgeable than me about this to explain the part about 960 x 720 in 1280 x 720 25 fps DVCPro HD. Thanks for taking the time to share the file information.

That's good, that's what I use. Then I compress it with the x.264 codec. The easiest one for me is in AviDemux. You'll want something to cut the size down to reduce upload times.

BTW, that DVCPro HD thing has something to do with pixel aspect ratios. Some players read it as that for 16:9 and other players read it as for 4:3. Listen to the mocking bird.

I've had a youtube account for a while so I don't know if its changed but I had to earn the 'privilege' of youtube encoding my material to HD. I don't remember how I did it. I think I just uploaded enough videos or had enough views and they just granted it to me.
The other possibility is they haven't finished encoding the HD version yet. Sometimes it just seems to hang for a day or so.

I had the same problem on but I solved I by putting the tag "yt:stretch=16:9" that fixed it so I don't had to upload the video again. But the best way I think is donkpow's way.

I've only got a few clips on YouTube. I notice it does take a while for the system to fully recognize features of videos. Here is the YouTube page for advanced encoding:

So mpeg422 works in Avidemux? Next time I need to export that's what I'll do too. Avidemux give more control over the encoding parameters to fine tune the finished product.If you want a very quick h.264 encode use h.264encoder, no real setting to choose from other than high, medium, low quality, but very fast and looks good on tablets/phones.

Maybe not, unless you like green screen. I'm not sure. I know I use it for uncompressed. I may be using ffmpeg and winff for m701. AviDemux has faac, I haven't sorted out ffmpeg and the extra library yet.

dvcproHD is natively an anamorphic 16/9 format : either 1440*1080 as hdv, or 960*720 as... nothing else i know ; this means you may have problems with any system not dealing with non-square pixels, or exporting to a container that does not have the required meta data for the pixel aspect. This was already the case with PAL and NTSC formats for example.
