I've made my first film with lightworks and was working on my last challange: inserting a picture-still. But something went wrong and now the program refuses working. The messages I get are "editor application is not working any more" and something with duty 0x002ccc8a and memory 0x762c005a. I've already tried a new installation of the programm (version 10) - with no improvement. I hope you can give me an advice so I can terminate my work on that film. But I'm a beginner, please be patient. Thanks.

I would try finding that image and renaming it so that the editor can't find it and see if the project will open again.

Thank you for the advice. The "exit" happened when I tried to create a timeline with "5 min black" - I moved the black space into the timeline by drag & drop and the programm crashed and since then I get the error-report. Another project I worked on before can be opened without any problem...

A long time ago I had an issue where I couldn't get into a project. I managed to get into the project by creating a new Room in it, opening that, and then switching to the old Room. If I'm remembering correctly, one of the Devs suggested this. You can create a new Room by click your project's thumbnail on the Projects Browser panel. This is the main screen that appears when opening Lightworks.

If that doesn't work, maybe you can right-click on the project and then click "Restore edit(s) from backups". Select the edit that contain the "5 min black" and then click Restore.

This all are very good advices, thank you very much. I tried it out. The Problem is, that in the moment I open the project or room it crashes. I managed to create a second room within the project, but if I change to the old room, it crashes, what meens, the program closes. So I have no opportunity to rightclick an restore anything, which first sounded very encouraging to me. I am afraid that many, many hours of work on my 12-min-film were in vain

The right-click Restore edit function is performed on the Project Browser panel.

Also, navigate to the Projects folder (C:\Users\Public\Documents\Lightworks\Projects) and do a search for "*.lck". Don't type the quotes. I'm curious if one of those files exists.
