TOPIC: File corruption

File corruption 12 months ago #23579

Having installed v.11 yesterday, I tried to import some of the AVI files that I used with V10.04, unfortunately, the files came through as a green screen on the video but the audio was OK.

I then tried the files direct from my camera, which are Mpeg-PS, I found the video was recognised but the audio being AC-3 format wasn't. I then tried translating them using Mediacoder into AVI but again, the video turned to green.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what I should do ?

Hi Fatherjack57,

Please can you send us a small sample so we can investigate? The codec engine has completely changed in Version 11 from that of the Beta.

Had a similar issue too.

Also:

I've experienced a problem with combustion plug-in in the #11

Before explaination, I'd like to precise that this occurs even when launching LW as administrator.

When I first installed the app, the combustion plug-in was there. I've been trying it with success. Being able to launched combustion, do a color correct and replace the footage in the timeline with the effect generated in combustion. It worked all fine.

But then I closed the app, re-open again some hours later, the combustion plug-in had disapeared from the list. No way to access it.

I re-inslalled completly LW to see. The Combustion plug-in reappeared again.

Close the app then re-open, the plug-in was again missing.

(it happens even if opening the app as admin)

Thanks Cookiecutter for your response.
I have attached a file that I have exported from Lightworks. Having viewed it in another application it doesn't show anything, therefore I have attached an AVI file that I know works in Premiere Cs3 but comes up green in L'works.

Many thanks , Jack

I have a similar Problem. Was Working on a Project in v10.4.2. Worked fine. Tried to install v11 and work with it.

It worked for most parts but there are certain frames in the many videos that are green (right in the middle 2-5 frames - no problems before or after - the sound fails, too at those points. Trying to export such a sequence with green frames in the middle will lead to abortion. Reimporting the original video footage will lead to the a similar behavior were the video Track is only imported until the first error frame.

Reverted back to v.10.4.2 made it work again fine.
Normal Playback Codecs on machine also displayed no error.

The Video Codec of the orignal is: Matrox MJPG 720x576 25.00fps in AVI Container. The Material is anamorphed (I think it is called) so it is coded in 4:3 but actually needs to be stretched to 16:9 (which Lightworks did actually pretty well)
